What is a QR code?

A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that stores text, links, or other data in a pattern of modules, designed to be scanned instantly by a smartphone camera. QR codes are commonly used on menus, posters, packaging and business cards to send someone straight to a website, contact card or message without typing anything.

This is a free QR code generator with real customization built in, not just a plain black-and-square maker. Choose from several dot styles — Classic, Dots, Rounded, Extra-Rounded, Classy or Fluid — set your own foreground and background colors, and optionally embed your own logo in the center. The logo is automatically cropped to a square and capped at a safe size so the code stays scannable, and the error-correction level is bumped up automatically whenever a logo is present. The result is a custom QR code generator that still produces a code you can rely on, not just one that looks good.

Most QR code generators — even ones that call themselves free — route your content through a server, sometimes to insert tracking, add a watermark, or make the code expire unless you sign up. Tools11x has no such catch: there is no file to upload in the first place, because a QR code generator with logo support like this one only needs your text and, optionally, an image file you already have — both processed and rendered entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted anywhere, there's no sign-up wall, and no watermark is ever added, so the code you download will keep working for as long as the link or text behind it does.

Questions

Is this QR code generator really free and unlimited?

Yes. There’s no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many QR codes you can generate. Because everything runs locally in your browser rather than on a server, there’s no usage cost to pass on, so it stays free for unlimited use.

Is anything I type or upload sent to a server?

No. This tool generates the QR code — and processes any logo you add — entirely inside your browser using client-side JavaScript. There’s no file to upload and no network request involved in creating the code. Whatever you type, and any image you choose, stays on your device the entire time.

Can I add my own logo to the QR code?

Yes. Upload a JPG, PNG or SVG and it’s automatically cropped to a centered square and placed in the middle of the code with a small backing so it doesn’t collide with nearby modules. Adding a logo automatically raises the error-correction level to Quartile or High, since a logo covers part of the code and needs the extra redundancy to stay scannable. You can remove the logo at any time without losing your other settings.

What dot styles and shapes are available?

Choose from Classic square modules, rounded Dots, softer Rounded corners, Extra-Rounded, Classy, or the more decorative Fluid style. Every style updates the live preview instantly and works the same whether or not you’ve added a logo.

What is the error-correction level, and which should I choose?

Error correction lets a QR code still scan correctly even if it’s partially damaged, dirty, or printed small — the trade-off is that higher levels store less data in the same size code. Medium is a good default for most uses. Choose High if the code will be printed small, displayed somewhere it might get scratched, or has a logo embedded; choose Low if you’re encoding a long URL or block of text and need the extra capacity.

Why does it say my text is too long?

QR codes have a maximum data capacity that depends on the error-correction level you choose — higher error correction means less room for data. If you see a "too long" warning, try switching to a lower error-correction level (Low or Medium), shortening the text, or using a URL shortener for long links.

Can I change the QR code colors?

Yes, use the foreground and background color pickers to customize the QR code to match your branding. For best scan reliability, keep strong contrast between the two colors — dark foreground on a light background (or vice versa) scans far more reliably than similar tones.

What’s the difference between the PNG and SVG downloads?

PNG is a fixed-resolution raster image, ideal for pasting into documents, slides or social posts at the size you generated. SVG is a scalable vector format that stays perfectly sharp at any size, making it the better choice for printing at large sizes or for professional design work.
